During a season full of distraction, uncertainty, and quarantining, the Reprieve family came together with one goal in mind: spreading Christmas cheer. Clients and staff set out to find the perfect Christmas tree for our courtyard that spans throughout our housing complex. After selecting a beautiful tree, the Reprieve community brought it back to property and positioned it in the courtyard where its crest is visible to every apartment. The clients took turns decorating the tree. They started with the lights and then added the ornaments--many of which were handmade by the clients. Finally, they placed the star atop the tree, kicking off the holiday season at Reprieve. With a fully decorated tree as well as Christmas lights hanging throughout property, the Reprieve family was now ready to make stockings. While listening to Christmas music in the palpably festive courtyard, all staff and clients gathered together to decorate and personalize their stockings to their liking. Lastly, several of our clients made Christmas wreaths to place on the doors of each apartment. Even though most of our community will be away from their families during this holiday season--whether due to COVID-19 or other limitations--the Reprieve family will spend the holiday together, eat good food, and enjoy each other's company in a courtyard full of animated decorations and Christmas cheer.
