Trump Administration To Relax Privacy Rules For Patients With History Of Addiction (Jessie’s Law)


August 22nd, the Trump administration revealed a proposal to change the privacy requirements for individuals with a history of addiction. Jessie’s law is a bill named for Jessica Grubb, a Michigan woman who was prescribed oxycodone following a knee surgery despite having notified doctors of her addiction history. Grubb died of an overdose the night she was discharged from the hospital.
